Alder Hey is the busiest Children's hospital in the UK and remains in the top 3 of the largest and busiest stand alone Children's hospitals in Europe.
Alder Hey has led the way in the care of sick children since the hospital was opened in 1914.
As a recognised Centre of Excellence for children with cancer, heart, spinal and brain disease, and a designated National Centre for head and facial surgery, we care for children throughout the UK.
Alder Hey was the first hospital in England to be awarded Investing in Children status. This accreditation is a quality mark for how we engage and work with our children to improve their care and experience during their time in hospital. We are also England's first public health promoting paediatric hospital accredited by the World Health Organisation, together with being home to Europe's first children's Intra Operative 3T MRI scanner - made possible by a £3 million donation from the Barclay Foundation.
Proud of our history and committed to building a better future for all children, Alder Hey is the heart of the community. Where there are children, there are families and friends to be considered too and here at Alder Hey we look after the whole family in our care.
So as we near our 100th year of providing amazing care, help us to make the difference and support us in our vision to make the lives of children throughout the world better by helping fund our research into childhood diseases.
Together we can make a difference.
